ASIMELEC AETIC and unite to form a single technology employer (AMETIC)
"Vivan los novios". This was delivered yesterday by Minister of Industry, Miguel Sebastian, after speaking at the launch of Ametic, the new English employers of electronics, information technology, telecommunications and digital content, the result of integrating Aetic (born in 2004 from the union of Aniel and SEDISI) and Asimelec.
Jesus Banegas, Ametic president, said the new management integrated into 5,000 companies, which together account for 350,000 employees, whose activity is about 7% of English GDP. The executive, defended the weight of ICT as a pillar for economic recovery, said that "one third of the national private sector effort in R & D is systematically carried out by our companies, which determines what constitutes the most innovative sector, more dynamic and high growth rates of the English economy. "
Banegas said it is more necessary than ever to identify the Avanza Plan 2011-2015 Strategy 2 as the catalyst for economic recovery, adding that funding for the plan should be expanded or "at least" keep around 1,500 million per year.
Furthermore, in its first Ametic speech as president, Banegas launched a set of proposals based on five areas: advanced control to Spain to lead pioneering the very high speed networks (called encourages investment), the implementation of eGovernment, the definition of a national energy saving plan, the strengthening of the ICT industry and the aforementioned English review of the Avanza Plan 2 with a greater allocation of budgets.
